CIBC Mellon has appointed industry veteran Shane Kuros to expand its relationships with Canadian institutional investors and with global institutions whose clients invest in the market.

He is vice president and head of sales for the asset servicing bank.

David Linds, senior vice president, business development and relationship management, CIBC Mellon, said: "Today's institutional investors are under intense pressure on many fronts - from expanding global regulatory complexity to a demanding low-interest-rate environment to vastly expanded reporting requirements.

"I have no doubt that Shane's extensive experience, strong relationships and deep knowledge of the marketplace will prove very valuable in helping our prospective clients identify opportunities to leverage CIBC Mellon solutions."

Kuros most recently worked for CS Financial as vice president since January. Before that he headed up sales and business development for RBC Investor Services where he worked for more than three years.

Kuros previously worked for CIBC (CIBC Mellon's Canadian parent company ) from 1991 to 2000. Overall he has some 25 years of sales, marketing and product development experience in financial services.
