JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has appointed Maria Ryan as Emea head of fixed-income strategies for its global fixed-income business.

In her role, Ryan will manage a team of client portfolio managers, responsible for client relationships across Emea and report to Meg McClellan, global head of market strategies for fixed income and liquidity.

“The current market environment is proving challenging for most investors, particularly when considering how to position their fixed income portfolios,” said McClellan. “Clients need close support and guidance at these times, so Maria’s appointment couldn’t be better timed.”

Ryan will work alongside portfolio managers to provide specialist investment knowledge to clients and ensure clients’ investment needs are met across the fixed-income platform.

Ryan joined JPMAM in 2013 as a client advisor with the UK institutional team from Wellington Management, where she was an associate director of fixed income and a relationship manager in Wellington’s global relationship group.

Prior to that, Maria was a managing director in BlackRock’s Fixed Income team, specializing in fixed income relationships with UK clients and consultants.
